Consensus scorecard
| Metric / basis | Quartr actual | API Ninjas consensus | Beat/Miss | Beat/Miss % |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Revenue / consolidated total revenue | $24.348m | $44.000m | Miss -$19.652m | -44.7% |

- Consensus scorecard, bulleted equivalent:
- Revenue / consolidated total revenue: Quartr actual $24.348m against API Ninjas consensus $44.000m - Miss -$19.652m, -44.7%.
- EPS / adjusted net loss per share: Quartr actual $(0.05) against API Ninjas consensus $(0.03) - Miss -$0.02, -66.7%.
- Carried forward unchanged from the 2026-08-11 preliminary report. The CFO restated revenue as "just over $24 million" for the quarter and "just under $77 million" year to date, net loss of $53m or $0.06 per share, and adjusted net loss of $41m and $70m, all consistent roundings of the release figures. Nothing on the call revised either scorecard actual, and neither management nor either analyst mentioned consensus at any point. The consensus used here remains the API Ninjas row keyed IAUX, the company's NYSE listing, against the Quartr TSX primary ticker IAU.
Management and Q&A
- Presenters were CEO Richard Young, COO Paul Chawrun and CFO Ryan Snow, with VP Investor Relations Caterina De Rosa hosting. Two analysts asked questions: Justin Chan of SCP Resource Finance and Don DeMarco of National Bank Financial, plus two written questions taken from the webcast. The call ran with a slide deck referenced as slides three through fourteen.
- The single largest new number on the call was the owner-processing margin uplift. Young stated that transitioning from toll milling to owner processing in 2028 "will improve our cash margins by between $1,000 and $1,500 per ounce." No figure of this kind appeared in the release. He also framed the production trajectory as rising from approximately 50,000 ounces this year to between 150,000 and 200,000 ounces in 2028, with a pipeline pathway to over 600,000 ounces by the early 2030s.
- The preliminary's largest open item - guidance reaffirmed with no restated figures and three directional-only adjustments - was closed with numbers. Snow quantified all four: growth capital expenditure in line with the $150m to $175m range on an accrual basis; Lone Tree refurbishment growth capital at the bottom end of guidance on an accrual basis with approximately $30m of that sitting in accruals, so the cash expenditure lands below the guidance range; Archimedes underground growth capital approximately $10m to $15m higher on the surface-infrastructure change; and exploration expense approximately $10m lower, attributed to late delivery of drill rigs to Ruby Hill and contractor personnel shortages. He characterized the set as "timing and capital allocation rather than changes to our development objectives."
- A production guidance range was restated on the call that the release omitted. Chawrun stated Granite Creek year-to-date production of approximately 17,500 ounces "keeping us on track to meet our 2026 guidance of 30,000-40,000 ounces produced," with Q2 production of approximately 8,600 ounces at that property.
- Water management was framed on the call in direct tension with the release. The release stated the underground pumping system "presently operates near capacity" on water inflow. Chawrun said "underground pumping capacity continues to exceed inflow rates," with a second larger water treatment plant and two new dewatering wells currently under commissioning to draw the water table below the underground workings. Both statements are recorded here; neither was reconciled on the call.
- The Granite Creek ground-condition disruption was explained. The delay was primarily waiting on a ventilation raise to access a high-grade zone - in the OG zone, not South Pacific - compounded by a small rib failure that required roughly two months of MSHA involvement before clearance. Both areas are now being mined and contributing to Q3. Development reached approximately 750 metres year to date, more than double the prior-year first half, and available headings now stand at 15 to 16 against the 10 to 12 management says it needs and the five to six it historically ran.
- Granite Creek unit and grade detail new to the call: approximately 72,000 tons mined including approximately 13,600 tons of sulfide at 6.5 g/t and 12,000 tons of oxide at 7.4 g/t; approximately 9,100 tons of sulfide processed; unit mining cost approximately $178 per ton, described as in line with plan.
- The upcoming Granite Creek feasibility study was pre-framed. A lower cutoff grade than the PEA, reserve grade consistent with average mine grades of the past several quarters, and - after Chawrun first said "similar tons" - Young corrected to "more tons, lower grade, similar ounces," adding that infill drilling has largely confirmed the PEA ounces at both Cove and Granite Creek. The Cove feasibility study was refined to "late in the third quarter of 2026."
- Financing detail absent from the release: 8.5 million warrants were exercised during the quarter, leaving 152 million of the original 186 million November 2027 warrants outstanding; a termination and settlement agreement was completed with Vox Royalty on a gold offtake agreement, which management says gives flexibility on future gold sales and stockpiling and "meaningful cash flow savings over the next 30 months" without quantifying them; a $100m accordion remains available under the National Bank and Macquarie gold prepay facility, plus a further $25m from Franco-Nevada once the initial $25m is spent on Mineral Point; total proceeds funded and committed exceed $1 billion since May 2025.
- The net loss driver was attributed explicitly to non-cash revaluation. Snow noted the new instruments are carried at fair value and remeasured each period for metals prices and discount rates, so revaluations "will have non-cash impacts on our income statement going forward," alongside recapitalization financing costs and rising pre-development expense that will begin to be capitalized only as feasibility studies publish and commercial production is declared.
- A 2027 stockpiling plan was described in answer to a written question: sulfide will be built up from both Granite Creek and Archimedes through 2027 to feed the plant from end-2027, and high-grade oxide will also be stockpiled, with the company still evaluating whether Ruby heap-leach processing is more economic than hauling it to the Lone Tree CIL circuit.
- On the Archimedes feasibility slip to mid-2027, Chawrun said it has no impact on the mine ramp-up schedule or Lone Tree feed assumptions, and Young added that the completed upper 426 drill program provides feed for several years regardless. The infill campaign for the lower 426 and Ruby Deep zones extends into early next year on drill-rig availability, with seven rigs underground that cannot all run around the clock.
- Mineral Point program scope was given for the first time: approximately 15,800 metres of core and RC drilling completed in the first half using up to five RC rigs and two diamond rigs, against a full program of approximately 300 holes over 131,000 metres. Trade-off studies for the pre-feasibility will cover silver recovery, overall gold recovery, crushing options and pit design. Young said the community has signed off on the facility layout including waste dumps and leach pads. Chawrun flagged that staffing 14 rigs across Mineral Point and Archimedes underground "will be a challenge."
Guidance and KPI clarification
| Item | New on the call | Prior guide / release | Prior-year actual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth capital expenditure | in line with guidance on an accrual basis | $150m to $175m, "largely in line" | not stated |
| Lone Tree refurbishment capital | bottom end of guidance on accrual basis; ~$30m sits in accruals so cash spend is below the range | release said only "lower than guided" | not stated |
| Archimedes growth capital | approximately $10m to $15m higher | release said only "higher" | not stated |
| Exploration expense | approximately $10m lower | approximately $10m lower (unchanged) | $18,590k for 6M 2025 |
| Granite Creek 2026 production | 30,000 to 40,000 oz; 17,500 oz achieved year to date | no production range restated in the release | not stated |
| Owner-processing cash margin uplift | $1,000 to $1,500 per ounce from 2028 | not in the release | not applicable |
- Guidance and KPI clarification, bulleted equivalent: the four guidance adjustments the release gave only as directions now carry amounts. Growth capital expenditure stays inside the $150m to $175m range on an accrual basis; Lone Tree refurbishment lands at the bottom end on accrual with roughly $30m in accruals, so cash spend falls below the range; Archimedes underground growth capital rises approximately $10m to $15m; and exploration expense falls approximately $10m. The company also restated a Granite Creek 2026 production range of 30,000 to 40,000 ounces against 17,500 ounces produced year to date, framed the company-wide 2026 figure as approximately 50,000 ounces, and set 2028 output at 150,000 to 200,000 ounces with a pathway beyond 600,000 ounces by the early 2030s. The single largest new economic disclosure is a $1,000 to $1,500 per ounce cash margin improvement from moving off toll milling to owner processing in 2028. No revenue, earnings, all-in-sustaining-cost or dividend guidance was given on the call, consistent with the release.
Updated neutral analysis
- The call materially improves the auditability of the guidance reaffirmation. The preliminary flagged that three of four adjustments were directional with no dollar amounts and that whether they offset was not disclosed. On the numbers now given, roughly $10m to $15m of additional Archimedes capital is offset by approximately $10m less exploration expense and a below-range cash outlay at Lone Tree, which is consistent with management's framing of a net-neutral timing and allocation shift rather than a cost increase. The offsets remain company-stated and are not independently verified here.
- The revenue miss is unchanged in cause and now better bounded in duration. The gap was ounces sold, not ounces produced: third-party processing availability left over 5,300 recoverable ounces in process plus approximately 1,800 ounces in inventory at quarter end. The structural fix is the Lone Tree plant, and the call attached an economic value to it for the first time at $1,000 to $1,500 per ounce of cash margin from 2028, against a first gold pour target of end-2027.
- Two of the preliminary's operational concerns were answered and one was contradicted. The Granite Creek ground conditions were a ventilation-raise sequencing issue plus an MSHA clearance delay, both resolved and contributing to Q3. Development is now ahead for the remainder of the year with 15 to 16 headings against a 10 to 12 requirement. But the release's statement that the underground pumping system "presently operates near capacity" sits against the COO's statement that pumping capacity "continues to exceed inflow rates." This desk does not resolve which framing is controlling; the two documents differ.
- The feasibility-study slips were confirmed as technical-report timing rather than schedule risk. Management stated explicitly that the Archimedes mid-2027 study does not affect mine ramp-up or Lone Tree feed assumptions, and that already-completed upper 426 drilling supplies several years of feed. The binding constraint disclosed is drilling contractor and rig staffing across a combined 14-rig program, which management itself called a challenge to staff.
- The loss profile is now attributed largely to non-cash mark-to-market on the recapitalization instruments plus expensed pre-development, with capitalization beginning only as feasibility studies publish and commercial production is declared. That does not change the reported figures but does mean the reported net loss and the cash position will continue to move for different reasons.
- Financial flexibility improved on two axes the release did not describe: the Vox Royalty offtake termination removes a constraint on when and how gold is sold ahead of Lone Tree commissioning, and $125m of undrawn capacity remains available across the prepay accordion and the Franco-Nevada tranche. Neither the offtake savings nor a funding bridge to first gold pour was quantified on the call, so the preliminary's funding-bridge uncertainty stands.
Market context and limitations
- API Ninjas price snapshot for IAUX: $1.66 on AMEX with volume of 12,017,783, timestamped 2026-08-11T20:17:49Z, roughly 16:18 Eastern and just after the regular session close.
- IMPORTANT SNAPSHOT CAVEAT: the preliminary recorded a 10:14:13Z snapshot of $1.70 on volume of 26,389,338. That volume is more than double the volume attached to the post-close print, which is not possible within one session, so the 10:14Z quote was almost certainly the prior session's close re-stamped with a current timestamp - the same provider behaviour flagged for ALCO earlier in this monitoring cycle. The $1.70 to $1.66 difference must not be read as an intraday move. No reaction to the release is characterized here.
- The complete transcript for event 640417 was read: 65 of 65 paragraphs, approximately 32,400 characters of speaker text, with
available=trueandisLive=falseconfirming a finished call. Prepared remarks, the analyst Q&A and both written webcast questions are covered. - The call repeatedly references a slide deck (slides three through fourteen). No slide document is attached to Quartr event 640417 - the only documents are earnings release 3674472, quarterly report 3674471, financial statements 3998009 and MD&A 3998008 - so the deck could not be read and no figure shown only on a slide is reproduced here.
- Every scorecard actual continues to come from Quartr earnings release document 3674472 as read for the preliminary. The financial statements and MD&A documents remain unread. No new estimate retrieval was performed for this stage and no scorecard figure was revised.
- The cross-listing note from the preliminary still stands and still suggests operator action: Quartr's primary ticker for this event is IAU (TSX) while API Ninjas carries the consensus under IAUX (NYSE), and
config/listing-map.jsonhas no IAU entry, so the row was assembled outside the configuredresolve_cross_listing_estimatespath. No currency or share-ratio conversion is involved. Config writes are outside this task's boundary, so no edit was made. - Figures management stated in rounded form on the call - revenue "just over $24 million," net loss "$53 million," adjusted net loss "$41 million," cash "approximately $465 million," restricted cash release "approximately $17 million" - are consistent roundings of the release figures and are not adopted here as new data.
- The Vox Royalty offtake termination's "meaningful cash flow savings over the next 30 months," the $1,000 to $1,500 per ounce owner-processing margin uplift, and the community sign-off on the Mineral Point facility layout were described on the call but not quantified in a document available here; they are recorded above as management statements only.
