Revenue of $12.2bn beat the $11.9689bn estimate by $231m and grew 34% year over year, above the high end of the company's own guidance range.
Non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.11 beat the $0.932 estimate by $0.18, the first quarter above $1, with GAAP EPS of $1.06 close behind it.
Guidance was raised at both horizons: FY2026 non-GAAP EPS to $3.75 to $3.85 and free cash flow to at least $3.75bn, and the FY2027 framework to 13% to 17% revenue growth, EPS of $4.40 to $4.60 and free cash flow of at least $5bn.
Orders grew 42% on a normalized basis against 34% revenue growth, and networking orders grew 36% against 10% revenue growth, leaving the largest backlog in company history.
The one thing that matters: supply, not demand, set the revenue line, which makes the raised FY2027 framework a conversion forecast rather than a demand forecast -- and management's own guide has this quarter's margins moderating from here.

Management commentary
The CEO said the AMD Helios opportunity is not in the FY2027 framework at all, with the platform available to order later this calendar year, and sized that class of deployment as a market at "tens of billions of dollars" -- with the scale-up tray switches now HPE Juniper product sellable beyond HPE racks.
The multi-billion-dollar server deal signed with a hyperscaler after quarter end is for that customer's own internal AI inferencing, not tier-1 cloud infrastructure; management was explicit that the strategy toward hyperscalers has not changed.
The CFO attributed the quarter's margin to a confluence of revenue scale, disciplined pricing in a constrained component market, Catalyst savings and a favorable mix of deals, and said both AI mix and deal mix moderate margins into Q4 and FY2027.
Supply constraints were described as consistent for three quarters -- DDR5, DDR4 and NAND, on top of wafer and clean-room capacity -- with multi-year supplier agreements signed to lock capacity and networking purchase commitments more than doubled sequentially.
Juniper synergy capture remains on track for $600m of annual run-rate savings by the end of FY2028 with integration costs tracking better than planned, and net leverage of 1.8x is already below the 2x target more than a year ahead of plan.
Quality of earnings
The margin is the quarter's peak, and management said so. Gross margin above 40% and operating margin of 16.2%, up 290 basis points sequentially, came from disciplined pricing in traditional servers plus networking mix; the Q4 guide has operating margin declining on a higher AI systems mix, and the FY2027 framework carries cloud and AI operating margin of approximately 13% against the 17% just posted.
The earnings quality is unusually clean at the per-share line and less so below it. GAAP EPS of $1.06 sits only $0.05 under the $1.11 non-GAAP figure, but operating expense rose 17% sequentially on variable compensation tied to the record result -- a cost the FY2027 framework assumes declines modestly, so part of next year's operating profit growth is this year's bonus accrual unwinding.
Gotchas & watch items
Networking revenue grew 10% while networking orders grew 36%, and data center networking revenue actually fell 6% on shipment timing -- the segment's growth is currently sitting in backlog rather than in the P&L.
Inventory ended at $11.8bn, up both year over year and sequentially on higher commodity costs and purchases staged for future shipments, so the record $958m of free cash flow was delivered against a working capital build, helped by collections and billings linearity.
The FY2027 framework excludes the AMD Helios opportunity entirely and includes only the beginning of the Oracle deal, so the raised numbers rest on backlog conversion rather than on the two headline wins management spent the call describing.
Free cash flow of at least $5bn in FY2027 against at least $3.75bn this year leans on restructuring falling away as the Catalyst and Juniper synergy programs finish, not on a step-change in operating conversion.
