Net revenue of $25.274 billion beat the $24.953 billion consensus by $321 million, or 1.3%, and core diluted EPS of $2.34 beat the $2.29 estimate by 2.2%.
The acceleration is real and volume-led: organic revenue grew 3.1%, the fastest rate since Q4 2023, with global beverage volume up 3% and global snacks volume up 4%.
The fourth-quarter earnings guide came down on margin alone, with top-line expectations held. Management named input costs trending higher and mix as the drivers, kept advertising and marketing spending in place rather than cutting to defend the quarter, and declined to frame 2027 until February.
International did the work: organic revenue up 8% and operating margin up 105 basis points, now 45% of year-to-date profit, against a North America beverage business that decelerated.
The one thing that matters: the top line accelerated to a three-year high and still beat, yet the Q4 cut is entirely cost-driven — hedges rolling off, a Q3 North America beverage tariff benefit that reverses — so the pressure that forced the revision is the part most likely to persist into 2027, which management would not quantify.

Management commentary
Schmitt put the Q4 revision squarely on margin — input costs trending higher and mix a headwind — and said advertising and marketing investment rose in both international and North America rather than being cut to protect the quarter.
Hedging programs run 6 to 12 months and had shielded input costs until now; Schmitt said those hedges are rolling off, commodities continue to ramp, and a complete 2027 view waits until the fourth-quarter report in February.
Schmitt flagged a tariff-related benefit in North America beverages in Q3 that, once it goes away, puts more underlying pressure on that business.
Laguarta on the weak link: "We are not competing well in soft drinks, so we are putting all the urgency of the business and the focus in improving our performance in soft drinks."
Laguarta said the company is open to revisiting every option on the North America business model, including accelerating refranchising where bottling partners can execute better, and pointed to structural cost reduction and net revenue management tools to partially mitigate Q4 margin pressure.
Quality of earnings
Growth thinned on its way down the P&L. Reported revenue grew north of 5% and organic revenue 3.1%, but core operating profit rose only 3% and EPS only 2% — and that was with hedging still shielding input costs, which management says is now ending.
A tariff benefit flattered North America beverages in Q3 and does not repeat. Management disclosed it as a quarter-specific item that, once gone, adds underlying pressure to the one segment that already decelerated.
Headline food volume understates the snacks portfolio by 3 points: global food volume rose 1%, or 4% excluding the grains business in South Africa.
Gotchas & watch items
The Q4 revision is margin-only — top-line expectations held while EPS came down — and management would neither size the inflation step-up nor give any 2027 framing, leaving a cut with no stated duration.
North America beverages decelerated in the quarter while carrying a tariff benefit that reverses, and management described the business as not competing well in soft drinks.
International is now 45% of year-to-date profit and growing 8% organically, so enterprise mix keeps shifting toward the segment that is working and away from the North America business management says it is not satisfied with.
Management opened the door to accelerating US refranchising and revisiting every option on the North America go-to-market model — a structural answer that concedes an 8-to-9-month One North America integration pilot will not fix the whole country.
