Revenue beat: Q3 total revenue of $64.6 billion, up 26%, against a $63.34 billion estimate, about 2.0% ahead.
EPS missed on a legal charge: GAAP EPS of $3.83 against a $6.54 estimate, with Q3 expenses carrying a $9.9 billion charge for the August 2026 multi-state attorneys general agreement.
Q4 revenue guided to $73 billion-$76 billion; full-year 2026 expense outlook raised to $175 billion-$179 billion to absorb the $9.9 billion charge; capex narrowed to $135 billion-$145 billion from $130 billion-$145 billion.
The call added a new non-voting share class, distributed one-for-one as a stock dividend, framed as a funding tool for AI investment, plus a Reality Labs loss target of around $15 billion for 2027.
The one thing that matters: the core ads engine is accelerating (26% revenue growth on 10% more impressions and 14% higher pricing), but capex of $34.9 billion pushed free cash flow to negative $2.1 billion, and the new non-voting stock signals that outside capital may join the Muse compute build-out.

Management commentary
Muse has more than 10 million personal agents set up in the U.S. and Canada in about six weeks, with about 25% using it daily; it has not launched globally because it is compute-intensive.
Management expects to improve Muse compute cost efficiency by more than tenfold over the next year through off-peak capacity, smaller models, and inference optimization, but did not share per-user cost figures.
Monetization will come sooner than the usual playbook: free for most users with commerce fees paid by businesses, plus subscriptions for advanced models; Meta One has passed 15 million subscriptions and trials.
On the non-voting share class, the CFO said: "We do not have any specific financing plans to announce at this time" — it is meant to give flexibility for capital raising, compensation, and acquisitions.
No 2027 revenue outlook, but management expects to sustain strong overall revenue growth through 2027, with new AI businesses beginning to contribute incremental revenue.
Quality of earnings
The EPS miss is a legal charge, not an operating shortfall. Total expenses of $51.6 billion, up 68%, include the $9.9 billion attorneys general charge; GAAP operating income fell 37% to $13 billion, but management says it would have grown 11% excluding the charge.
Tax took a second bite. The 24% tax rate came in above the outlook range on the non-deductible portion of the legal expense, against a Q4 guide of 15% to 17%.
Cash generation went negative. Capex including finance lease principal of $34.9 billion left free cash flow at negative $2.1 billion, with $82.4 billion of cash and marketable securities now below $83.7 billion of debt.
Gotchas & watch items
Expense growth outside the charge is still steep: management attributes the 68% expense growth to legal costs, infrastructure, and third-party AI token costs, while cutting headcount 12% from Q2 to just over 66,000.
Part of the 14% price-per-ad gain is a soft comparison: management credits improved macro conditions relative to Q3 of last year alongside ad performance gains.
Reality Labs revenue fell 6% to $443 million on lower Quest sales, even as the full-year segment loss is guided to $18 billion-$19 billion.
No 2027 expense or capex frame was given, despite Muse total serving costs expected to rise and a goal of capacity for more than 1 billion people.
