Verdict
Q3 sales reached EUR 5.4 billion, up 14.6% reported and 11.4% same-day, accelerating from +6.7% in Q2 and +3.4% in Q1; no consensus estimate was available for comparison.
Growth was broad: North America +17.4% (U.S. +18.2%, data centers now around 13% of U.S. sales), Asia-Pacific +15.8%, Europe +4.5%.
Full-year 2026 guidance raised for the second time: same-day sales growth around 7% from around 5%, current adjusted EBITA margin at least 6.4% from at least 6.2%, free cash flow conversion above 65% confirmed.
The one thing that matters: the new full-year guide implies Q4 same-day growth of roughly 6.5%, about half the Q3 pace, and management attributes the gap to copper and data-center comparables plus 1-2 points of exceptional Q3 contracts, not to any slowdown.

Management commentary
Backlog: the North American backlog is above $3 billion U.S., a record up 42% since end-2025, equal to 3.4 months of sales; data centers are around 25% of the U.S. backlog, and most of it converts next year.
Data-center pipeline: of roughly 100 projects in backlog, none has been delayed or canceled, and exposure to neoclouds is limited.
Inventory: management said there is "absolutely no sign of customers building inventory" and Rexel is not building its own.
M&A: the GCG acquisition is funded by a EUR 500 million capital increase completed in late September, with closing targeted by year-end.
October trading was described as good, and medium-term targets will be revisited during 2027 rather than now.
Quality of earnings
Price did nearly half the work. Volumes contributed 6.3 points of the 11.4% same-day growth and price 5.1 points (2.9 from cable, 2.2 from non-cable), with Q4 price guided flat sequentially.
Some of the North American acceleration is non-recurring. Management put exceptional large contracts at 1% to 2% of the roughly 17% North American growth in Q3.
Reported growth was flattered by scope and currency. Acquisitions added 2.1 points and FX 1.2 points on top of the 11.4% same-day growth.
Gotchas & watch items
Europe volumes are flat: management said that excluding price, European volume growth is around zero year to date despite 4.5% Q3 same-day growth.
European HVAC demand that lifted France and the Netherlands in a hot summer is not expected to repeat in winter; energy-transition lines were up about 13% in Europe in Q3.
Margin guide moved only 20 bps, to at least 6.4%, despite same-day growth guidance raised 2 points, as North American cost inflation in commissions, salaries and medical benefits limits drop-through.
Talley is a mix drag after an outstanding 2025, and data centers are still described as slightly dilutive to North American EBITA margin.
