Revenue missed: $1.174 billion against a $1.206 billion consensus (miss carried from the preliminary). Non-GAAP diluted EPS of $0.46 also missed the $0.49 estimate, and revenue came in below the company's own range.
Q4 revenue is guided to $1.425-$1.475 billion, 8%-12% growth, with a deliberately widened range, plus adjusted EBITDA of $538-$588 million. The full-year adjusted EBITDA margin of approximately 30% is maintained.
The miss is concentrated in Europe. Europe revenue of $193 million was roughly flat, with about an 11-point drag from cross-border sellers after the EU de minimis exemption was removed. UCAN grew 14% to $894 million and rest of world 24% to $87 million.
Users keep growing while monetization per impression falls: global MAUs rose 10% to 661 million, ad impressions grew 17%, but ad pricing declined 4%.
The one thing that matters: the slowdown from 18% to 12% growth is mostly regulatory and timing, not demand. The Q4 guide assumes the cross-border drag persists, so recovery depends on the European go-to-market rebuild and not on a quick rebound.

Management commentary
The CEO attributed the miss to the European de minimis change: "The regulatory impact was greater than we anticipated," adding about 3 points of sequential deceleration. The international go-to-market restructuring was a smaller contributor and played out as expected.
Management said the most difficult parts of the international sales leadership transition are behind them, with early signs of improvement in core European enterprise growth quarter to date.
UCAN revenue is up 15% year to date, which management presented as proof that the performance-ads playbook now being applied internationally works.
The long-term aim restated on the call is a return to mid-to-high teens revenue growth, the company's historical rate.
James Dibbo joined as CFO this week from Amazon, where he was CFO of the ads and media businesses.
Quality of earnings
Q3 margin was flattered by a cost-of-revenue benefit that will not recur. Cost of revenue of $250 million, up 21%, benefited from accelerated recognition of contractual benefits under a new multi-year infrastructure agreement. Q4 cost of revenue is guided to grow sequentially at a low teens rate.
Cash conversion is solid. Q3 free cash flow was $300 million against $339 million of adjusted EBITDA, and trailing 12-month free cash flow of nearly $1.26 billion represents 90% conversion.
Expense discipline is real, not cosmetic. Non-GAAP operating expense grew 9% to $591 million against 12% revenue growth, and headcount excluding the tvScientific acquisition was down 4% year over year.
Gotchas & watch items
Pricing is the weak link: ad pricing fell 4% while impressions grew 17%, so engagement growth is not converting into revenue at the same rate.
The European disruption may already be turning: the core European enterprise business, which excludes cross-border sellers, saw growth halve in Q3 versus Q2. Quarter to date in Q4, it has re-accelerated above its Q2 level.
FX turns against Q4: foreign exchange added 1 point to Q2 growth, was neutral in Q3, and is expected to be a modest headwind in Q4.
The new assistant monetizes differently: about 80% of Pinterest Assistant searches are commercial, against just over half of all Pinterest searches, and it is now generally available in the U.S.
