Revenue of $154.3 million beat the API Ninjas estimate of $149.3 million by 3.3%, and non-GAAP EPS of $0.63 beat the $0.60 estimate by 5.7%.
Full-year 2026 revenue growth guidance was raised to 10-11% from 8-10%; the fourth quarter is guided to revenue of $143-151 million, an 8% increase at the midpoint, with non-GAAP EPS of 46 to 54 cents.
The record was broad: revenue grew 14.2% in constant currency with CNC machining up 16.7%, injection molding up 12.6% and 3D printing up 11.5% against sheet metal down 4.6%, while revenue per customer rose 17% across almost 21,000 customers.
Leverage, not price, drove earnings: adjusted operating expenses fell to 32.6% of revenue from 35.9%, taking adjusted EBITDA to $26.2 million from $21.1 million and margin to 17% from 15.6%, even as gross margin fell.
The one thing that matters: the 230 basis point sequential drop in gross margin to 44.5% is almost fully accounted for by about 100 basis points of expensed machine upgrades and 90 of contract labour, both variable - so underlying margin is better than reported, yet the fourth-quarter guide assumes margin flat to slightly down and an EPS midpoint of $0.50 against the $0.63 just delivered.

Management commentary
Europe grew double digits in the quarter, credited in part to go-to-market changes made late last year, while the return to profitability there was called a longer-term work in progress.
Fourth-quarter softness was framed as the seasonality seen for the prior seven years, with gross margin assumed flat to slightly down and SG&A as a percentage of revenue returning to first- and second-quarter levels.
For 2027, the CFO expects operating expense growth much closer to revenue growth than this year and expects to hold the gross margin percentage.
On aerospace and defence budget risk, management pointed to space exploration, satellites, drones and non-defence demand in robotics and data centres as support for continued double-digit growth.
Breaking down the sequential margin, the CFO said there is "about 100 basis points in those machine upgrades" with roughly 90 basis points in contract labour and the rest in material cost.
Quality of earnings
The margin dip is explained and largely variable. Non-GAAP gross margin fell 230 basis points sequentially to 44.5%, of which management attributes about 100 basis points to machine upgrades expensed rather than capitalised and about 90 basis points to contract labour, with the remainder in raw material costs.
Earnings growth came from the cost line, not the gross line. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.63 rose 33.4% on 14.2% constant-currency revenue growth, driven by adjusted operating expenses falling 330 basis points as a share of revenue to 32.6% while gross margin went the other way.
The balance sheet supports the result. Operating cash flow of $22.8 million came against adjusted EBITDA of $26.2 million, with $5 million of stock repurchased and $175 million of cash and investments against zero debt at quarter end.
Gotchas & watch items
Underlying margin is better than reported: roughly 190 of the 230 basis points of sequential gross margin decline came from machine upgrades and contract labour that management describes as variable costs it can move over time.
The guide does not take that margin back: fourth-quarter gross margin is assumed flat to slightly down and SG&A as a percentage of revenue is expected to return to first- and second-quarter levels, which is why the $0.50 EPS midpoint sits below the $0.63 just reported.
The network side is stalling while the factory runs hot: network revenue grew 3% year over year against factory growth of 17.5%, with management calling U.S. network demand softer and Europe strong.
Sheet metal is the one service line shrinking, down 4.6% in constant currency on broad end-market weakness partially offset by aerospace and defence.
