Revenue of $895 million beat the $874.9 million consensus by 2.3%, and GAAP diluted EPS of $1.40 beat $1.33 (both carried from the preliminary).
Q4 guide of $1 billion to $1.03 billion revenue (38% to 42% growth) and $480 million to $510 million adjusted EBITDA implies a step down from Q3's 53% growth.
The call added a new negative: search referrals fell by more than 1 million per week on average in October, and management said DAUq could fall by a low double-digit percentage from 130 million in Q4 if that continues.
Monetization is carrying the story: advertising revenue rose 54% to $847 million, ARPU rose 36% to $6.87, and over 80% of monetization sits with logged-in and app users, which grew sequentially.
The one thing that matters: Reddit is now growing revenue on price and conversion while warning its user base may shrink by a low double-digit percentage in Q4; the planned logged-in-only shift trades reach for engagement, so user counts and revenue are set to diverge further.

Management commentary
CEO Steve Huffman confirmed the logged-in-only shift is a decision, not just an experiment: tests begin in Q4 in select markets outside the U.S., citing ad targeting, engagement and protection of Reddit's data corpus.
Management attributes the search decline mainly to Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, plus lower ranking of machine-translated content outside the U.S.; "AI Overviews or AI Mode, it's just not a traffic driver".
COO Jen Wong said click volume grew over 50% and conversion volume more than tripled, with pricing outpacing impressions; shopping and app install objectives each grew over 95%.
On AI content licensing, management said it is in active discussions with no update, and that not doing a deal remains an option.
Total fully diluted shares fell sequentially to 206.3 million after about $100 million of buybacks in Q3, with about $660 million remaining on the authorization.
Quality of earnings
Cash backs the earnings. Free cash flow of $363 million, up 98%, ran ahead of $283 million of net income, with capex of just $1.2 million.
Net income is flattered by an unusually low tax line. Q3 tax expense was about $5.8 million, an effective rate of about 2%, because full valuation allowances remain on U.S. deferred tax assets; management is assessing whether they remain appropriate, so the reported rate is not a steady state.
Margin gains are operating leverage, not cuts. Adjusted operating expenses fell to 47% of revenue from 51%, adjusted costs grew 41% against 53% revenue growth, and incremental adjusted EBITDA margin was 54%.
Gotchas & watch items
The user decline is accelerating, not stabilizing: search referral traffic was down meaningfully in Q3 with the decline accelerating late in the quarter and continuing into October at more than 1 million fewer referrals per week.
Q3 left revenue on the table: the CFO said some September bookings could not be delivered on a couple of particularly strong days, with only about 50% of the business booked entering the quarter.
Growth is buying reach abroad: international user marketing spend was raised to offset lost search reach, keeping total consumer marketing at mid-single digits of revenue; management will judge that spend over the next few quarters.
Room to scale app conversion is real: only about 13% of eligible mobile web users currently see the app conversion prompt, and new-user first-week return is up over 50% year over year.
